Coast III

Update on the coast sections I have been making for the Crisis Point 2 weekend in April. Now finished 14 sections so nearly there. I think I will just need to make one more section to link it to the southern table edge but until I have managed to lay it out in full I won't know.

I have been documenting the process on how I made these and will post them as soon as possible. Need to try and set up the whole layout just to check what I have left to do. Next up is rivers and roads, especially the E6.

Coast II

Four more coastline sections nearly complete, just some touching up to finish and the Leven Miniatures lighthouse needs painting. I have been asked by Ian S to do a step by step guide on how I made these so as I have three more just started I have begun to photograph each stage and when I have completed them I will post the step by step guide. I have a few more Leven Miniatures lighthouses so I hope to add them to add to the coastline feel.

More to come soon including the step by step guide to my coastline sections.

Coast

During construction of the old WWII emplacement I hit upon the idea of creating a coastline that could be laid onto a battlemat. So as I am responsible for the Bodo table for this years Crisis Point 2 weekend I though I would build enough pieces to allow the fjord to extend along way along the table to give plenty of options for amphibious landings etc. Here is the coastline so far, three modules completed with one more WIP. More are cut ready as I think I will need about 16ft-18ft of coastline eventually.

Lots more to do including lighthouses from Leven Miniatures and a large bridge.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year.

Due to my sisters illness and subsequent passing this blog hasn't been updated for a while. But with Crisis Point 2 taking place in April it is time to get going again on the terrain and forces required for the two day megagame. So I will be updating as much as possible over the next few weeks. Although some items will have to kept secret as we wouldn't want NATO finding out what we have planned.

Cheers

Sad News!

Unfortunately at 9.00am on Tuesday 13th November 2012 my dear sister Kate  lost her three year fight with cancer and passed away peacefully at the Sue Ryder Hospice at Leckhampton Court, Cheltenham.

I have loads to post and as soon as things have calmed down I will get to it.

On The Workbench 1

I have made a start on building the rocky outcrop around the Coastal Gun Emplacement. So far so good. I am continuing with the theme of having the abandoned look on all the WWII fortifications. Got to let the plaster dry before anymore updates.

The back section is built up

I have just had a idea, in my research for Crisis Point 2 I have come across many photos taken from viewpoints, especially the photos that appear on Google Earth. With this in mind I thought I would model this as a viewpoint to take lovely photos of the sun setting over Bodo (as the Soviets land yet another MRD on at Bodo airport! lol). So eventually it will have a road round the bottom, a car park and a viewpoint on top. Maybe the old emplacement could be a radio station?

More updates soon!

Coastal Gun Emplacement

Picked this up on ebay. I thought it might look good on the Bodo table for next years Crisis Point game. One problem is the flat back to the model so I am going to base it and then build the back up to represent a rocky outcrop.
